Goal Reflection (Move Up Day)

December2

Goal: I can reflect on how I see the problem solving strategies and the mathamations toolbox when solving worded problems.

Reflection:  I can now do reflections after doing worded problems. I learnt in this lesson that there are 4  strategies  to solve a maths problem  I used number 2 which is predict and more. I have learnt this by using the help of an experienced person (Sasha) and by following the problem solving steps.

Going to the beach

December17

I’m thrilled it’s a smoking hot day and my mind is exploding with joy. I’m going on my first day to the beach. I pack my bucket and spade.

We hop in the car and soon we arrive. I explore around. I went in the water, waves crashed, creatures are swimming and a gust of wind blows the sand in the opposite direction. I yell, “Help!” because I am drowning down. My legs are numb and my heart is pounding like a drum. Once again I yell, “Help!” but who knows who heard.

Inside of one eye I see a grey creature with a fin on its back and razor sharp teeth approaching me. No life guard is to be seen. I swim down but my breath is about to burst out. Mum sees my head up a bit. She shouts, “Can you hear me?!” waiting for a reply. “Yes,” I gasp. I slowly swam behind an enormous rock. But the shark could smell me. Finally I swim closer to shore. My leaned out her hand, while dad was doing nothing but relaxing on the smooth beach towel in the beautiful sunlight. I quickly try to grab her hand and ‘Smack!’ I reach her hand in the nick of time.

“That was close,” I said. Why couldn’t you have helped?” mum asked dad. He didn’t reply. Mum slapped his face. Her mind was rushing with fire. We drove home. In silence. Suddenly I said, “Hang on, where’s dad?” I searched everywhere. “Don’t tell me we left him at the beach?’

“I think we did,” mum replied. “Man that’s annoying- he must still be sunbaking in the sun! We are going to have to go back to the beach.”

“NOOOO, this is a nightmare!” It seems my first day at the beach is going to be a disaster. We drive back to the beach. Dad was still not to be seen. “What? Dad was just here”

Then we saw someone walking past, panicking. It was dad! “Hooray! Great to see you dad!” I gave dada slapping hug. Everyone stared at me, but I didn’t care, well mum cared. She was tottaly embarrassed, Then, once again, we left.

The next morning I woke up. “Well, another adventure begins- I wonder what it will be today?” I said.

STORM at camp!

November27

I feel a static shock.

there comes a crushing blow.

like a reinforced drill in the shaking ground

I grip like a vice in case I blow away

A whirl of wind thrashing in my face

a brutal bash goes through the trees-tears drop in terror

A furious, fierce and ferocious wind is twirling in a spiral

The mind killer storm is out of control

Rain is splashing down with a splash, Bang, Crash!

Hiding in the darkness of the day, The sun becomes free to own the sky again

Everything is wet and rain is dropping into drew drops

the wind calms and outside is freezing, fresh and clean.

Simile poem about mum :)

October14

My mum Sussan is a helpful and polite mum but her hair is as rough as a carpet!

Her eyes sparkle like crystals shining in the warm sun,

Her laughter is like a gift of her love,

She smiles as bright as the sun shining on the world,

She sings like a bird singing in the morning daylight,

You can smell the flowers of Spring when she walks past.

Wheel and Axel

September1

Intro:The wheel and axel is another  basic simple machine,A wheel is made from a thick cylinder that spins around  an axel is made from a fulcrum  that stays in the middle of the wheel and helps to hold it.

The force is very important and thats when you push the wheel. If you push it gently it wont go that far if you push it hard it will go far because of the force and energy going through.
